Man, I think I already said this a while back, but my wife’s favorite song on the album is ‘Kingdom Rising’, and mine, too. I really saw it as the Death be Not Proud of the record, but, alas, it turned out to be more like the hidden preview at the end of movie credits that most people don’t stick around for. ;)
Well as someone who religiously grew up on Marvel movies, I’m hardwired to stick around for the after credits scene :)
There’s something very satisfying about songs that are longer than the norm when they’re actually GOOD. In my mind Kingdom Rising has definitely joined the likes of Deathbed by Relient K, Death Be Not proud, etc.
Great song. Wish there was an album with the same name. Alas.
Seriously though it wraps up the record so well and makes it feel even more cohesive than it already does by that point.
