Such great insights Seth … and had me laughing over Mr. Snail’s hard day at the office!

Haha, I won't let Mr. Snail know we've been laughing at his expense. He's suffered enough already. ;)

Great insight on simplicity. Capturing a specific moment is definitely easier with an instrument that’s more straightforward and easy going. Whether professional or not, any moment is captured - even if you’ve unfortunately missed a specific moment appear in frame.

With photography aside…sometimes there is more worth in just soaking in any moment or view with our own very eyes, rather than being distracted by anything else.

What matters most I think is that, we’re able to enjoy what the Lord has made in accordance to His will. We can stand still in awe and admiration, astonished by the craftsmanship and handiwork of His hands and acknowledge creation that fully displays his sovereignty.

Devin, thank you again for sharing your camera with me and helping me better understand ISO, lighting, etc.! You're exactly right about soaking in the moment. That's precisely why my wife and I left social media about seven years ago. I remember her looking out a window forlornly, and saying something like, "Why is it that we always feel like we have to take pictures of ourselves in special moments--birthdays, vacations away, etc.; think of how many moments we miss by grabbing our cameras and taking selfies." Wise words.

PS: Great pictures! Looks like a prime place for exploration, and I cannot lie I pictured reading a book in that camping chair.

I've got a great book for you to read on that lawn chair if you're interested. It's called THE LION'S PRIDE! haha

Solid recommendation, I’ll have to make my lawn chair dream happen on this side of the continent I suppose :)

Well said, good sir. Crazy how things designed to help us capture moments in more vivid detail can be the very things that make us miss them altogether.

Reminds me of a Relient K lyric from their song Look on Up: “I wonder why I put a filter between beauty and my eyes”.

As I’ve gotten older I’ve grown to find great beauty in simplicity.

Wow, I remember my sister sending me that very Relient K song four or five years ago, and I hadn't heard their music for more than a decade. Great song and message for sure!

Amen to that, man. Beauty in simplicity. Have you by any chance heard the old band called Telecast? They played at our church when I was in high school and they had a very simplistic worship album called "The Beauty of Simplicity." The CD sounded a bit thin and flat, but the live worship performance significantly impacted me.

No way! Your sister is a real one. And that sounds so familiar and I looked them up on Spotify and I swear I’ve seen their album art before. I’ll give them a listen.
